Gymnastics!

Isaac started gymnastics this past weekend. I think it went pretty well for the first day. He was a little distracted at first and just wanted to watch everyone else. But he did a great job, considering he was the youngest in the class with 3-3 1/2 yr olds! Even though he lagged behind at times because he was interested in the other kids class, he followed directions and caught up with the rest of the class.
We were going to do a mommy and me class but not enough kids signed up. So, they moved him up to the next class. When class was ready to begin he didn't want to go at first but then took the teacher's hand and followed her. I got a little emotional watching him walk out on the mats. He was so big and so little at the same time. He's growing so fast. Of course, Nick said I better start preparing for his first day of kindergarten!

Getting a little help from his teacher on the balance beam.

Doing his first summersault. The three girls in front of him are in his class. He was behind because he was watching the older kids. But he did a great job of following directions. (Click on the picture and it's bigger)

He tried to reach for the rings and his teacher lifted him up. He's a dare devil!
Now Nick wants to convert the basement to a gym and get mats, balance beams, and trampolines--so he can practice!

Dogs need love too

Isaac likes to cover everything up with this blanket. All thanks to his cousin Maren, I think. Nick was laying on the floor and Isaac kept on covering him up. Winston came around and Isaac decided he need a hug and was cold, so he covered him up too. The dogs do pretty well with the hugs Isaac gives them. Winston doesn't look so sure in second picture!

Sleeping update

Isaac has been great with his new bed. Every morning he wakes up and says "I sleep all night!"
This weekend was the first time he took nap in his bed and I was a little worried. It took awhile to get him down. He kept on saying, rock, rock--delaying the fact he was going to take a nap. Of course, I gave in and rocked him and then put him down with him shedding a few tears. But he took a 2 hour nap! Sunday was much better. Maybe because I wasn't there and daddy had to do it! I guess he got up once and Nick said, "I am not your mother and now go lay down." Which he did in a huff!

Toddler bed--did I just jinx it?!

This weekend we decided to put up Isaac's new toddler bed. He got it for Christmas and we waited because he was doing just fine in his crib. But with his 2nd birthday and we wanted to ease the transition of losing the crib to the new baby and he will be moving rooms too when the baby comes. So, we decided to take the next step. His crib is still in his room, so we can always go back to the crib too.
This is his second night it in and so far so good. But I'm afraid I just jinxed everything by speaking too soon. He had a lot of fun helping Daddy put it together. It was so cute. Being a handy man just might be in his future.
And it was pretty funny this morning when he woke up at 6:30am (not the funny part!) and yelled, "momma get up" I think he thought he was in this crib and couldn't get out. Then about 10 seconds later he must of remembered and ran into our bedroom and said, "momma I sleep all night!" Yes, he did! I was so proud and so happy! We have a talk every night on how he's going to sleep through the night and now included in that talk is how he will stay in bed! Here's hoping everything will continue!

He kept on saying, "this go in here?" Finished product! Now we are working on not jumping or standing on the bed. One thing at a time--as long as he sleeps!

Isaac's little brother or sister?

I had my first ultrasound on Monday and everything is great. It was nice to hear that from the nurse when she was doing it. She kept on saying things look great and the doctor confirmed the baby is growing exactly how he/she should be and healthy.
And to show how much he/she is growing, the baby is measuring at 19 1/2 weeks where I am really only 18 weeks on Friday. I know it really doesn't mean that much but it kind of does for me because the doc doesn't want me to go over my due date--fearing the baby will be too big to deliver safely. I guess I'm that small inside and basing it off Isaac being so long and lean. The baby would run out of room. I just trust my doctor and hoping that the 2nd delivery can be like the first...well maybe a little bit faster with less pain. Ha!

As far as the sex, there's a 50% chance it will be a girl! We did not find out the sex. BOTH of us did not find out the sex. I wasn't going to but Nick wanted to. And up until we got in the room, he was going to but all of a sudden he told the nurse we didn't want to know the sex. I was shocked. For those who don't know, Nick hates surprises and didn't want to start liking them this way. I'm really proud and happy that he didn't.
But...I think it's a boy. I think I saw something that indicated that when she said to look away and just have a feeling. But I also thought Isaac was going to be a girl. So, maybe I will be wrong.
All pregnant women say, so here it goes...I just want the baby to be healthy. One minute I think a boy will be easy because we know what to expect but as a mom, you want a little girl. If it's not then my niece Maren will get the mani/pedi's, shopping and do the girl stuff with me!

Happy birthday, Isaac!

Happy birthday! I have to say it, I can't believe I have a 2 year old! We had a busy weekend celebrating his birthday. Friday, we got hit with a lot of snow so we were worried if people could make his party but everyone showed up. Isaac had a great time playing with his cousins and in his new playroom. Thanks to Uncle Steven, who finished the basement for us. It's not a bad thing but Isaac wakes up every morning wanting to go "dar-sters"--downstairs.
I guess we had a Diego/Dora theme with a banner and cake. We love Diego!

Isaac mesmerized with his cake.
This is one of my all time favorite pictures. His new TV tray. He would eat every meal on it, if we let him. Being silly with Uncle Steven!
The afternoon would've not been complete without rocking out to Rock Band. Cousin Maren on the drums!
Thanks to both sides of the family for coming out in the snowy weather.

Bummer

It was a bummer the Colts lost but we still had a fun Super Bowl Sunday! Isaac learned some key football phrases--Go Colts and touchdown (arms and all!).

Isaac came home from daycare with a new tatoo! Well, just airbrushed!Hat he made a daycare
And he found an old pair of sunglasses and wore them all afternoon.

He is preparing for the game with a mid-afternoon snack with his new tray. He loves it. He wanted to use it all day.

Go Colts! There is always next year.

Gymnastic time

I've always said before I even had kids, I wanted them to take gymnastics--girl or boy.
So, Isaac will be starting gymnastics, ok-mommy and me gymnastics in 2 weeks! I'm so excited.
I think it will help in learning to follow directions, (which he's good at most of the time), and just give him time to burn off some energy! They have a foam pit, trampoline, balance beams, and will learn some tumbling! It's a great birthday present from Mae Mae Ruth--my mom.
