Daycare, eating and sitting up

As many people know by now I would rather be a stay at home mom than work. Nick and I have gone back and forth about it and it's just not in the cards right now. I'm slowly coming to grips with it and I know it puts a lot of pressure on Nick to make more money. Or maybe some of the fine readers will pass down some money. :)

So since I can't stay home, Isaac has been in daycare. He started his 3rd...I know 3...daycare on Monday. Long story short, our first one wanted to take him on trips with no car base, second one called him spoiled because he wanted to be held (mainly because he sat in a bouncy seat all day) and now we started at Sharon's. I found her through Kyle, a friend and co-worker, so now Isaac and Brennan can start to become better friends! I definitely feel more comfortable with Sharon because Isaac is the youngest of the 6 kids--the rest are 12 months (Brennan) and 2 and older. So, hopefully he will get some special attention since he isn't crawling and sitting up 100%. I will keep you posted!

But here are some recent pictures. As I said before, Isaac started solid foods and I have given up on making it because he doesn't like it. No comments...no it's not my cooking! It has been so neat seeing him learning new things. It's something so basic as getting Cheerios into his mouth. The first time I put them on his tray, he just looked at them and in one week he learned to get them into his mouth...he's not very good at it but he is trying! I guess it's the little things to get excited about!

As you can see he gets a kick out of pulling my hair!

Eleanor cleaning his hands! They love it when he eats Cheerios. Dad already telling him what to do!

He always ends up with the spoon; trying to feed himself.

He's the next Robambero for the Red Sox's!

6 month checkup

The facts about Isaac:

Weight: 16lbs 7 oz--50% percentile
Height: 28 inches--95% percentile
Head: still growing but not too big, just right--I forgot the measurement

So, he only gained 2lbs since last time but the nurse said he is burning more calories since he is moving around more. He should be gaining more now since we started solids. I've decided to give up on making his food. I tried and he hated and yes I've tried numerous times and still won't eat it. We kind of lied to the nurse when we said we started with veggies and have only done veggies and not fruit. They are big on waiting on the fruit. He had water for the first time the other night to wash down the teething toast (that was all over his face) but he loved the water.

Nick hates it when Isaac gets messy when he eats. Well, he doesn't hate it but hates seeing the food all over. I guess that is the OCD coming out in him.

Nick and I played hooky from work and went the fair on Friday with my sister and brother-in-law. Isaac was super tired and was not that into the animals. He started crying when the sheep baa'ed at him! It was so sad. Will post pictures soon.

What dad wrote for me

I once saw a site that made me cry
and it made my chest puff up with pride.
What was it? What did I see?
My little son smiling up at me.

Nick thinks he isn't a good writer I would've never been able to come up this.

When dad dresses me...

This is what I look like! The kids at daycare make fun of me.
