Bath time for blanket

Now that Isaac is in a toddler bed, he wakes up every morning and comes into our bedroom to wake me up. (Something I'm working at because it's usually around 6 or 6:30am!) But usually comes in with his blanket and one fafa (pacifier) in his mouth. He has two fafa's but usually loses it during the night. Those two things are definitely his security or as some call it "lovey." I just like to say he has a blanket (can't find a pix of the blanket, but you can see it in the blog entry below where he's covering up our dog). A friend from grad school, Jen--who blogs here--sent it when he was born. I swear I'm getting to a story here...
The other day we were down in the basement, Isaac was playing and I was doing laundry. Isaac decided to help me sort clothes and I asked if wanted to wash his blanket. Willingly he said yes and threw it in the washer. It wasn't until I closed the washer and didn't give it back that he broke out in tears. So in order to calm my crying child, I told him his blanket was getting a bath and he likes to take a bath, so we needed to leave him in there. That somewhat helped, enough he moved back to playing.
It's amazing the things we as parents come up with ease, encourage our children to eag veggies, etc. The other day I told Isaac that he needed to eat his peas and corn because they would make him jump really high! And he wanted to be the highest jumper at daycare, right?! Is that bad?! I guess until he realizes or someone tells him he is a short--for now and barely gets off the ground. But hey--he ate up his peas and corn!
