It started with Lucas around his 4th week of life. He started projectile vomiting or spitting up is what I called it. I called it that because Isaac had it and I thought it was no big deal. But it got worse and turned out he had pyloric stenosis. Turns out it's pretty common in first-born boy's. I could not imagine being a first time mother and going through what we went through.
After an x-ray and ultrasound, we were told it could be fixed by surgery. And surprisingly very calm about it because it could be fixed.
The hardest part of all this was the night before the surgery. He was too dehydrated to have surgery that night. So, he received IV fluids throughout the night and couldn't eat at all. Nick said he would stay at the hospital and I could go home and spend time with Isaac. Again, the mom guilt kicked in that I wasn't staying with my newborn! I wasn't breastfeeding and Nick could 100% handle it. And I so glad I did because he cried all night and was vomiting stomach bile cause the little guy had no food in him.
Surgery went great but he couldn't eat until 5 hours after surgery. That was kind of hard. How do you tell a starving baby to suck on a pacifier instead of a bottle!

The tubes and IV's were hard to look at but they were necessary.

I love this picture of Isaac.
He looks so grown up. He was great at the hospital and was able to get a few balloons for himself...I mean the baby!
Things are great now. We felt like he was eating like every hour but I guess he just had to catch up since he missed it for those 3 days! I know I'm already comparing...but it's so different from Isaac. 30 minute naps, only 2 months and is in 3-6 or 6 month clothes, and hates shopping with mom because he hates the carseat!!

I'm so glad everything has worked out with Lucas - you are the bravest parents I know!
Yeah right! Maybe crazy for having 2 kids! JK. Something you want to hear, right?!
